The Bishop Speaks

Welcome to another edition of our e-magazine EMPOWERMENT. I pray that not only are you well and blessed but also that this magazine will bless and benefit you as well

This is the summer edition of EMPOWERMENT and so I want to take a moment to encourage you to seek to make the most of this season of summer and to suggest some ways that this can happen.

Summer is of course the time of year when many, if not most, take vacations and rest. Both of those are needed and valuable but let me also encourage you to see summer as a time to do some other things as well.

First, use summer as a time to recalibrate your life. Life is busy, full, and hectic and so sometimes we can get out of sync and the slower pace of summer is a great time to recalibrate your life. We do this by taking time to reflect and refocus.

Second, let me encourage you to take this time to reconnect. Summer is a time of family reunions, picnics and getting together with others. Take advantage of those opportunities to reconnect, it often helps us to remember who we are and where we come from.

Third, let me encourage you to use summer as a time to recommit. Use these slower, calmer months of summer to recommit to healthier lifestyles, healthier relationships and a healthier spiritual life as well.

Enjoy your summer and know that you are loved and prayed for.
